You can search for services using three different methods. Each type of search is accessible by a link on the NY Connects banner at the top of every page. You can search for resources in the following ways:
- Keyword Search
- Self-Guided Search
- Category Search
Keyword Search
To search for a service using a keyword:
- Click the Know What You Need? link on the NY Connects banner.
- Do one or more of the following:
- Enter a keyword in the Find text box.
- Enter a city, county, or ZIP code in the Location field.
- Click the Search button. The Resources page is displayed showing the search results.
Self-Guided Search
To search for a service using a keyword:
- Click the Know What You Need? link on the NY Connects banner.
- Expand a category that describes an area you need help with.
- Select the check boxes of the tasks you need help with.
- Repeat for additional categories, as necessary.
- Optionally, enter a city, county or ZIP code in the Location field to filter the results to a particular place.
- Click the Search button. A number on the button indicates the number of check boxes you have selected. The Resources page is displayed showing the search results. You can clear check boxes on the left to display results for only some of the areas you selected.
Category Search
To browse the service listed:
- Click the Want to Explore Options? link on the NY Connects banner.
- Click on a category of interest.
- Click on a sub-category of interest. The Resources page is displayed showing the search results. You can filter the results to a specific city, county, or ZIP and to a selection of applicable terms within the displayed sub-category.
