Description:Elizabeth’s House is a 14 bed community residence for women age 18 and older who are seeking recovery from alcohol and other drugs. Residents will stay at Elizabeth’s House for an average of 6-12 months in an effort to gain the independent living skills necessary to begin living a sober life style. The variable length of stay is designed so that we can tailor each resident’s program to meet her individual treatment needs.
Elizabeth’s House is part of the larger Hudson Mohawk Recovery Center Inc. community. HMRC has been offering treatment services to individuals who suffer from the harmful effects of addiction since 1967. Through the continuum of services provided, HMRC has been able to help hundreds of individuals find recovery and live a better, more productive way of life. HMRC offers services that are tailored specifically for individuals and families. Taking care of the “whole person” is the foundation of our philosophy. This holistic approach addresses the medical, familial, social, housing, vocational/educational and legal needs of each individual. HMRC and all of its programs are licensed by the NYS Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) and are supported by both OASAS and Rensselaer County Unified Services. It is a private, not-for-profit agency, which establishes fees based on our individual client’s ability to pay.
Our philosophy is that chemical dependency is primary, progressive, chronic, and if left untreated, fatal disease that effects the whole person. For treatment to be successful, the disease must be addressed physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually. Every effort is made by our staff to help each resident prepare to re-enter society and live a healthy, chemically free lifestyle, maintain sobriety and continue personal growth, one day at a time.
Our mission is to empower each woman who walks through our door. Through honest and compassionate care we hope to help individuals, families and communities overcome the harmful effects of addiction and rise above barriers to healing through an array of quality care and preventative programs. HMRC and Elizabeth’s House respects each individual’s unique journey through the recovery process and believes that the disease of addiction is both preventable and treatable.
Elizabeth's House is located at 106-108 Ninth Street in Troy, New York.
