Connecting people to transportation services for medically related visits and other necessities. Volunteer drivers provide non-emergency medical and/or food related transportation assistance to Steuben County residents who have no other means of transportation.
Please call at least two work days prior to the appointment to ensure proper arrangements can be made (and a week’s notice is best). Through phone triage, callers are assessed for eligibility and linked to information, referral, or human service programs to address their needs.
The service is free, however riders receive a suggested donation notice the month following the ride. All donations are confidential and are used directly to continue and expand the service. Absolutely no one will be denied a ride due to an inability to contribute.
Limit to 2 rides/month for under age 60+ no Medicaid.
Roscoe exists to meet the unique needs of every individual staff member and resident by providing a caring and supportive environment where people are always treated like people and everyone is given the personalized attention the need to live, work and grow as human beings.
Families and individuals need to be registered for the food pantry and can utilize the pantry once every other month, from the date of registration. To register, you will need photo identification, identification for everyone living in the house and proof of address. There are many families, individuals and seniors who face food insecurity. During the winter months, we serve 60 families a week and in the summer the number increases to 250 families.
Services offered by Catholic Charities include: Counseling of individual couples, families, children, Foster Grandparent program, Pregnant and Parenting Teen Program. Services provided on a non-sectarian basis and the agency does not discriminate on the basis of race, creed, religious affiliation, ethnic background or sexual orientation.
VITA (Volunteer Income Tax Assistance) Project helps senior citizens file their state and federal income tax returns. As with clinics, projects have limited resources and cannot take every case, no matter how deserving. Please call first (631 761-7080), determine if you are eligible, and make an appointment to meet with a project representative.
Long Island Volunteer Center (LIVC) is the resource center for volunteerism and community service initiatives throughout Nassau and Suffolk counties. Established in 1992, LIVC operates year round and its services are provided free of charge.LIVC collaborates with corporations and community organizations to address the needs of Long Islanders.
