The Senior Companion Program offers men and women age 55 and up who meet income eligibility requirements the opportunity to assist frail elders at area adult day programs, senior centers and in their individual homes. The program’s mission is to help frail elders to remain living independently and to improve the quality of life for both frail elders and their care partners.

Services include: transportation, companion/socialization, shopping, meal preparation, caregiver respite, case management.

Circles of Mercy honors the dignity of each person, offers hospitality and provides services to instill hope and empower individuals, especially economically poor women and women with children, to reach their full potential. The agency also advocates for public policy changes in an effort to break the cycle of poverty, which primarily affects women and women with children.

Through our partnerships with other agencies and organizations, we are pleased to offer the following services:

The American Civic Association (ACA) offers a variety of events and activities to highlight and educate the community: Multi-Ethnic Garlic Festival, All Nations Ball, monthly ethnic luncheons, immigration and refugee workshops, English as a Second Language (ESL) classes, General Education Development (GED) classes, citizenship classes.

Companion care services include daily tasks such as meal prep, light housekeeping, errands, shopping, medication reminders, assistance with pet care. Services also include social and interpersonal tasks such as spending quality time with your loved one by chatting and listening, playing board/card games, or transportation to doctor appointments and other outings.

The RCIL Leadership Academy is a groundbreaking 5 part series of training sessions for members of the Disability Rights community to learn the leadership skills needed for community and system outreach, influence and change.

If you are a person with a disability, visible or invisible, have experienced a change in lifestyle or abilities due to aging or injury, or work closely with the disability community . . . . . You are invited!

Our nation needs leaders with disabilities to hold positions of power and influence to help put an end to discrimination, stigmas and institutional bias. The motto, “Nothing About Us, Without Us”, depends on training leaders to prepare for positions that impact policy making and community building. It depends on YOU to join, learn and mentor others to do the same!

The Mental Health Association of the Southern Tier (MHAST) Sunrise Wellness Center is a peer run program promoting recovery for individuals with a mental health diagnosis. Provides a central location for socialization and resources.
