Educational Advocacy offers parents, caregivers and school districts the understanding regarding special education plans (ex. 504 or Individualized Educational Plan - IEP) and how a youth/young adult can utilize their plan to assist in succeeding while attending P-12 Education.
What Is Housing Advocacy?
If you need assistance locating and applying for affordable and accessible housing in Dutchess County. TRI can provide you resources, such as applications for available housing, assistance in getting your name on a waiting list, or help in sorting through and filling out paperwork.
If you feel you have experienced housing discrimination due to your disAbility, TRI can provide support in discussing the matter with the landlord. If you want to file a complaint, TRI can provide resources to guide you.
First Ward Action Council (FWAC) provides assistance to Binghamton First and Second Ward residents with issues affecting neighborhoods, such as neighborhood re-development and improvement. Maintains information on housing and provides referrals. Provides assistance to neighborhood watch groups and other community organizations. Offers internships in conjunction with Binghamton University.
Disability Rights New York provides legal assistance to adults and children with disabilities.
The League of Women Voters provides assistance related to voter registration, candidate debates and distribution of non partisan election information

Community Building In Action (CBA) is a federally-funded program that serves as a liaison between the City of Rochester, neighborhood business associations, and neighborhood groups to improve the business environment in the northeast quadrant. Provide training and services which allow individuals and resident groups to shape their environments and take a greater role in their community.
Get Help with Free Tax Assistance
Since 1968, AARP Foundation Tax-Aide has provided free tax help to over 78 million taxpayers, with a focus on older adults with low to moderate income. Tax-Aide volunteers are located nationwide, and are trained and IRS-certified every year to make sure they know about and understand the latest changes and additions to the tax code.
Tax-Aide locator is live and on-site Tax-Aide service is open. Tax assistance is available by appointment and might be offered on a walk-in basis depending on the location. Access to the different types of taxpayer assistance varies in each locality.
