Programs that enable individuals with disabilities, people who abuse drugs or alcohol, or people who have emotional problems to obtain the training and employment experiences they need to achieve economic self-sufficiency. Services may include vocational evaluation, work adjustment, work experience, training in marketable skills and placement in competitive employment or a sheltered work environment.
The Disability Employment Initiative, operated by the NYS Department of Labor, works to improve educational, training, and employment opportunities for disabled adults; connecting them with training resources and employment opportunities.
The Westchester County Department of Senior Programs and Services is a partner with a network of senior employment agencies and programs offering expert job search assistance and training to learn new skills or to upgrade current skills. Please contact one of the network partners for job placement assistance:

WWAARC offers Community Employment Programs for individuals with disabilities using a person-centered approach, community-based assessments and comprehensive placement services in order to provide optimum support for individuals seeking to obtain and maintain employment. We offer the right combination of career counseling, on the job coaching services, intensive job training, job development and ongoing support.
The Independent Living Center assists and provides a training on the historical and present day application of Disability Rights and the movement. This training will offer a business, organization or community information about equal access, the Disability Movement, and the benefits of hiring someone with a disability.
