The Salvation Army has an Vehicle Donation program. They accept used cars, boats, or other vehicle donations in any condition, running or not. Not all vehicles are accepted at all locations. Call first.
NYS Disaster Case Management Program of Catholic Charities connects individuals to services and resources for help after a disaster. Case managers work one-on-one, providing referrals and obtaining all available assistance. This program is only activated during Disaster situations.
The Lion's Club accepts donated eye glasses. Drop off located at Sacco Eye Group. Take the first right after University Plaza (Tully's) heading east. Located directly across the street from Time Warner Cable on the right hand side.
Broome County Emergency Services provides planning, training, resources, response, warning, coordination and information through communications to the public, elected officials and public safety agencies to assist them in preparing for, responding to and mitigating emergencies and disasters which affect the residents of Broome County.
The Salvation Army operates an Emergency Disaster Relief program which provides: individual/family counseling and works with other agencies in feeding/housing for volunteers and victims.
The American Red Cross of Northeastern New York helps people prepare for, prevent and respond to disasters, as well as providing life-saving trainings and support services. Our eight-county service area includes Albany, Columbia, Fulton, Greene, Montgomery, Rensselaer, Schenectady and Schoharie counties and the town of Waterford in Saratoga County.

Through the Federal Emergency Management Agency (FEMA), for areas declared disaster areas, there may be grants for basic home repairs and/or rental assistance; low interest loans for renters, homeowners, and businesses; and grants for serious disaster-related needs and expenses such as appliances and furniture. IMPORTANT: Call to start the registration process. Have available: Social Security number, insurance information including policy numbers, information on your damage, direct deposit information and day and night contact information. Document your claim number.
We have a community loan closet with a varity of medical devices that members of the community can borrow, based on availablity, at no charge, including:
•Crutches
•Walkers
•Canes
•Wheel chairs
On occasion, we have other equipment available.
We accept donations of most medical equipment or supplies. If we can't place it in the immediate community, we work with other agencies to find an appropriate usable home.
Unfortunately, we cannot accept beds of any kind due to their size and Health Department concerns. We also cannot accept any materials past an expiration date if so marked.
The American Red Cross has the International Tracing Program, which provides assistance to families separated by war, internal conflict, or changing world conditions.
