The Museum of the Earth at the Paleontological Research Institution (PRI) offers everyone an opportunity to explore the history of life on earth dating back 550 million years. The museum displays over 650 specimens from PRIæs world-class fossil collection including the 44-foot skeleton of the Right Whale #2030 and the Hyde Park Mastodon, one of the most complete skeletons ever found! This food pantry serves thousands of people in the Herkimer County. Providing them with food services, especially those in need. The location of the food pantry is on N. Main and Church Streets, Herkimer, NY 13350.
The mission of the South End Children's Cafe is to impact food security, address food equality and food justice, enhance academic success and positively influence the physical and mental health of children residing in the South End of Albany, New York by offering free, healthy dinner time meals along with homework help, academic enrichment, mentoring, exercise and participation in the arts Monday through Friday. Community volunteers join the children daily, assisting with school projects, homework, goal setting and acquiring needed resources for good health and overall wellness.
Families and individuals need to be registered for the food pantry and can utilize the pantry once every other month, from the date of registration. To register, you will need photo identification, identification for everyone living in the house and proof of address. There are many families, individuals and seniors who face food insecurity. During the winter months, we serve 60 families a week and in the summer the number increases to 250 families.
